What does “quantum” mean here?

Quantum physics is the framework scientists use to describe matter, light and information at very small scales. It makes exceptionally accurate predictions, but some of its ideas differ from everyday experience.

This programme separates established results from analogies, simplified models and active research. Students learn what a model helps us see—and where it stops being exact.
