Pi Leo Academy Walkthrough: Where to Start

30 October 2026 · Pi Leo Academy

A learning website is most useful when you know what to do first. You do not need to explore every page in one sitting. Choose one maths idea, try one question and use the answer to decide your next step.

This is the channel's “Walk through Part 1” video. It is an earlier tour, so some screens may look different today. The steps below use the current website links and give families a straightforward place to begin.

Start with something you can try

Open the free fractions and decimals sample. Let your child make a choice before revealing the explanation. A useful starting question is: which fraction is equivalent to one half?

Draw a rectangle divided into four equal parts and shade two. The shaded amount is 2/4 = 1/2. The numbers look different, but they describe the same share of the whole. Ask your child to explain the picture in their own words.

Choose the next page from the answer

  1. If the idea is unfamiliar: open the matching study notes and work through a picture or example together.
  2. If the answer is right but the explanation is unclear: try a different example, such as 3/6, and ask why it is also one half.
  3. If both the answer and reasoning are clear: choose the next suitable topic through the year-level learning map.

The year label is a starting point. It is fine to revisit an earlier skill before attempting something more demanding. A parent can use the parent guide to understand account-based learning and saved practice.

A small first-session plan

Try one free question, discuss the worked answer, then write down one topic to revisit. Avoid opening several unrelated activities at once. For the fractions example, a useful next task is to draw three equal parts, shade one, and explain why that is one third rather than one half.

When your family wants more resources, compare the membership plans before choosing. Look at the included activities, billing interval and cancellation terms. Free public samples and the full member library serve different purposes; trying a sample helps you judge the style before subscribing.

Keep the study notes beside you

Full study notes and their PDF downloads require an account with the relevant access. Open the notes page first if you need to sign in or choose a membership. These are companion resources for the activity in this article.
