Your First Pi Leo Academy Session: Family Checklist
30 October 2026 · Pi Leo Academy
Ready to explore Pi Leo Academy? The most useful first step is a small learning task. A family can begin with a public sample, see how the explanation works and then decide whether the member resources fit their needs.
This welcome Short invites viewers to visit the website. Here is a practical checklist for turning that visit into a first session with a clear purpose.
1. Choose one manageable idea
Ask your child which topic they would like to understand better. Fractions, multiplication and reading time are useful possibilities. Use the learning map to see the available year levels. Begin where the learner can take part, even if that means revisiting an earlier topic.
2. Make an attempt before checking
Try a simple companion question: what are the next two numbers in 6, 12, 18, 24? Look for the repeated change. Each number is six more than the previous number, so the next two are 30 and 36.
Ask how the learner knew. “Add six each time” explains the rule. “I guessed” is a useful signal to draw equal jumps or use counters. A small question can show where an explanation would help.
3. Read the relevant note
Open the matching multiples and sequences note below. Look for one example that resembles the difficulty, then try a fresh sequence: 7, 14, 21, 28. The next two numbers are 35 and 42 because the repeated step is seven. This is an opportunity to apply the idea rather than copy an answer.
4. Choose access that fits your family
Free public samples can be tried before subscribing. For account-based learning, parents can sign in or use the account-creation link on that page. The parent guide explains the learning and progress features.
Full member notes and practice need the relevant access. Review the plans, included resources and current terms before selecting a subscription. If a trial is offered, read the eligibility, payment and renewal details shown for that offer.
5. Finish with a clear next step
Write one short note: “Next time, practise multiples of seven.” Keep the task specific enough to start easily. You do not need to finish a whole library or turn the first visit into a long test. A completed example and a sensible next topic make a useful beginning.
Keep the study notes beside you
Full study notes and their PDF downloads require an account with the relevant access. Open the notes page first if you need to sign in or choose a membership. These are companion resources for the activity in this article.
